Hi, is anyone else watching first episode of HUGE tonight on ABC Family (9 pm EST)? Let me know -- would love to discuss here after the show.

Katharine de Baun is Managing Editor of Fitsmi for Moms and a mom to four kids (ages 15, 12, 10, 7). She lives in central New Jersey, loves to garden, and drives a beat-up minivan.

I watched the last episode of the season last night -- I have loved this show. I'm hearing rumors that ABCFamily is not going to renew it and hope they're false. I hope they put more money into production next time -- all of those twilight and indoor scenes needed better lighting! Seems like half the show was at night, too.

This is such a great character show. It's interesting -- at my house I liked the show much more than my daughter, who's a sophisticated 12. She much prefers "Too Fat for Fifteen". She watched the first couple episodes of Huge and was interested at first but then drifted off. I think what interests her more is the "weight loss battle", not the narrative emphasis of Huge, which is really a kind of teen soap opera, not a weight-loss show.

What do you think? Have you been watching the show? Would LOVE to hear some other opinions.

I myself have not seen HUGE, but I have and am living the "Too Fat For 15. If there is anyone out there that has questions please feel free to ask. My son is Scotty on the show. The only thing I ask is that we keep it positive, I honestly cant take anymore negitivity right now. Also Im the worlds worst speller please forgive me.

My name is Susan Basso my son Scott is on "Too Fat for 15" Fighting Back. I have received a lot of grief because of letting him be on the show. I feel like what I have done not only will help Scott see what he needs to do for himself but maybe some other child may see what he/she may need to do to help themselves.

Hi Susan - welcome again to Fitsmi for Moms! Thanks for offering to share your experience on Too Fat for Fifteen. I do have a question -- did you know about the TV show when you signed Scott up for camp? Is the show helping to subsidize kids at camp, as I know Wellspring is expensive.

have a great weekend!

No the day before we left to take Scott to WSA I got a phone call, I was told that there might me a film crew there in hopes to do a Documentry on the academy would we be willing to be interviewed? When we arrived there was a film crew and the Stlye network picked up the show. I would have to say that in my opionion its more of a "Realiaity" then "Documentry".
And to answer your 2nd question we have not gotten paid for this at all. Scott did this in hopes that he might help someone else who might be feeling helpless.
