Back in the day, we used to say "Neener" when you got to write the first post in a topic. So: "Neener! Neener! Neener!" :-D
Seriously, welcome to Fitsmi for Moms. I hope you'll help us make this a great resource for all Moms and families who are struggling to get healthy for the long run. It can be a real battle, I know! But the rewards are here for the taking, for all of us.

Hi there! I am not a mom or a dad, but rather an Aunt. My niece is not a teenager, though she certainly acts like it most days. She is 6 and weighs almost 100 pounds. Having been overweight and obese my entire life, this is certainly not the life I wanted for Brooklynn! I have been watching Too Fat For 15: Fighting Back and on their message board saw a mention of fitsmi for girls. I decided to check it out in the hope that I can pick up information to help my niece (who lives with me, her grandparents, and her mother), even though she is only 6. We need to turn this around with her now!

I'm soooo happy to see this resource is making its presence on the web! I wish something like fitsme.com had been available when I was a teen.

Anxious to learn more about the rest of you all!

Nancy E in NW Wisconsin

Born in 1969
No children, but aunt to 1 niece
Reside in Wisconsin
Obese and have been my entire life.

Hi Nancy - welcome! It's wonderful that you care so much about your niece. Fitsmi.com is for girls aged 13-18, but Fitsmi for Moms, while focused on teen years, can really be used by parents of kids of any age.

Did you see Too Fat for Fifteen last night? What do you think of the show?

Hi everyone, I dont have an over weight daughter, I have an over weight son. I could really use some encouragement. You see Scott is gone to a boarding school for over weight children and I miss him so much. But we had to do this to save his life,

My name is Susan Basso my son Scott is on "Too Fat for 15" Fighting Back. I have received a lot of grief because of letting him be on the show. I feel like what I have done not only will help Scott see what he needs to do for himself but maybe some other child may see what he/she may need to do to help themselves.
