What types of information do we collect?
As used below:
• “You” or “your” will refer to either or both a parent on his or her own behalf and/or on behalf of his or her teen child, and/or a teen user.
• “We” or “our” or “Life180″ refers to Life180, Inc. The beta version of the Fitsmi.com is Life180′s web site offering and, in certain instances, may be used as an alter ego reference to Life180.
During our registration process, we collect the following information from you: your first and last names, your email address, your birth date. We collect birth dates to validate the ages of our registrants. We do not collect any other personally identifiable information during our registration process.
Fitsmi.com Beta Site and its offerings are not intended for any child under thirteen (13) years of age, and we do not accept or keep registration information from any person whose birth date indicates the registrant is less than thirteen (13) years of age.
In certain instances before allowing you to use a feature on our Fitsmi.com Beta Site, such as posting a video or subscribing to a pay-version of Fitsmi.com and/or other Life180′s offerings, Life180 may require you to provide us with a higher level of verification to confirm that a parent has given permission for the teen child’s participation in such features. For example, we may require a parent to provide us credit card information or return by postal mail, fax or email a signed consent form.
Our Fitsmi.com Beta Site may offer message boards, conversation pages, chat rooms, social community environments, profile pages, or other interactive forums, as well as other features in which you may provide us with your Submissions. If you provide personal information when you uses any of these features, that personal information may be publicly posted and otherwise disclosed without limitation as to its use by a third party. You are responsible for your communications, and are responsible for the consequences of their posting. Further, during the registration process, we will ask you to create a “member name” and choose a password to be used to access your account and the features of the Fitsmi.com Beta Site. We strongly advise against creating a member name that includes any personally identifiable information. Should you choose to post to the Fitsmi.com Beta Site, make comments, participate in the interactive forums or provide us with other types of “Submissions”, we may use your member name to identify or credit you as the source of such Submissions. Submissions and your member name may be used in perpetuity, even if you elect to terminate, delete or remove your account or request us to remove your personally identifiable information. Please see our “Beta Program Terms and Conditions” by clicking to read more about how “Submissions” are treated and handled.
What kind of information is collected automatically by technology?
We collect information through technology to make our sites more interesting and useful to you and for various purposes related to Life180′s business, which may include uses that support advertising or strategic partners, academic research, and other endeavors deemed by Life180 to be consistent with its mission of helping our constituent base.
Our Web sites collect information through a variety of technical methods, including cookies and Web beacons. Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site sends to your computer while you are viewing the Web site. Web beacons are small pieces of data that are embedded in images on the pages of Web sites. Cookies, web beacons and other technical methods may involve the transmission of information either directly to us or to another party authorized by us to collect information on our behalf. Most browsers offer instructions on how to reset the browser to reject cookies and/or Web beacons. However, if you block our cookies or Web beacons, certain features of Fitsmi.com may not work properly.
We may use the information collected through these technical methods for many purposes, including delivering content, tracking and enhancing our user’s experience on our Web sites. For example, when you return to one of our Web sites after logging in, cookies provide information to the site so that the site will remember who you are. We also may use technical methods to analyze the traffic patterns on our Web sites, such as the frequency with which our users visit various parts of our Web sites, and third party Web sites, such as the frequency with which our users visit other Web sites.
In HTML e-mails that we send you, we may use technical methods for a number of purposes, including to determine whether you have opened or forwarded those e-mails and/or clicked on links in those e-mails, to customize the display of banner advertisements and other messages after you have closed the e-mail, and to determine whether you have made an inquiry or purchase in response to a particular e-mail. These technical methods may enable us to collect and use information in a form that is personally identifiable.
When you come to the Fitsmi.com Beta Site, we and/or network advertisers may collect your IP address. An IP address is associated with the access point through which you enter the Internet, and is typically controlled by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and/or the computer and/or other network appliance(s) used at such access point location. Standing alone, your IP address is not personally identifiable. IP addresses are generally collected to develop information regarding the frequency with which you visit various parts of our sites and/or other third party sites, and may be combined by us with personally identifiable information that is in our possession or by network advertisers with personally identifiable information that may be in their possession. We will not sell or provide your personally identifiable information to any network advertisers or other third parties without express permission.
Notwithstanding any other statements or representations here or elsewhere on our site, Life180 reserves its right to disclose any information in its possession if it is required to do so by law, or it believes, in good faith, that such a disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, defend its rights or property, or to respond to an emergency situation.
How you can access, change or delete personally identifiable information?
At any time you can refuse to permit us to collect further personal information from you (or about your teen child) and can request that any personal information we have collected be deleted from our active records. We use two methods to allow you to access, change, or delete the personally identifiable information that we have collected from you (or about your teen child).
1. You can access, change, or remove from active view or use your (or your teen child’s) personally identifiable information by logging on to your account and accessing your edit account page. You will need to have the member name and password of the account. There are instructions on the login page explaining how to recover a forgotten password.
2. You can contact us to access, change, or remove from active view or use any personally identifiable information that we have collected from you (or about your teen child) by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your member name as well as the parent’s e-mail address and, if applicable, the teen child’s email address in your e-mail so that we can better assist you with your inquiry or request.
Please be advised that (a) requesting the removal of or not providing personally identifiable information may result in the termination, removal or blocking of your account, registration and/or access to certain offerings at Fitsmi.com and (b) change of personal information may affect your use of certain offerings at Fitsmi.com including the correctness of any results. We reserve the right to maintain archival copies of any personally identifiable information you have provided to us in a manner that will not allow it to be publicly used or accessed. Once you request a change or removal of your personally identifiable information and/or your account, we can give you no assurances that such information or account may be retrieved or reopened in the future.
Nothing requires us to delete, block or remove any non-personally identifiable information from our Fitsmi.com Beta Site or our databases. All non-personally identifiable information submitted by you will be treated as a “Submission” under the “Beta Program Terms and Conditions”.
